There is nothing quite like going on a transformative yoga retreat. It is not a vacation in the
traditional sense. It is something much more. The yoga practice each day, twice a day, brings you alive and slows your mind
to steady and open your heart to the beauty that surrounds you. The redwood trees and vista views nourish the soul and slowly
chip away stress built up from the daily routine and chip away at the habitual patters of our daily life. Whether you are
lying in the hammock or hiking through the trees, there is an aliveness and presence that infuses life. It has been my experience
through both yoga and presence in a natural environment there is opportunity to touch part of the self that in daily life
is more difficult to connect to which offers the opportunity for transformation.
Located on top of Spring Mountain nearly 1,200 feet above the costal fog outside of Guerneville in Northern California,
Wildwood Retreat Center is a unique environment for yoga and relaxation. Wildwood is set in spectacular range of unspoiled
redwood groves, fir trees, and giant oaks, interspersed with sunny meadows and striking vistas. The center includes more than
200 acres featuring a variety of marked hiking trails, fresh water springs, and dazzling views. Best of all there is seldom
another human being to see on the land, and a greater possibility of seeing a deer or falcon.
Below are several pictures from the retreat. Many thanks to all of you who made this such a wonderful experience.
